The SnapChat Punishment

It was just a typical spring afternoon, flowers starting to bloom and people suffering from allergies. Khushi was sitting at home, chilling on the kitchen counter, waiting for Arnav to get home. She and Arnav had been dating for five years, almost their sixth. Both were very happy together that they had decided to move in together and they had been living together in a cozy apartment for the past two years. All had been going well, until the past few weeks. Khushi looked up at the iPad in front of her, displaying YouTube. She had been playing music all day, fooling around and dancing since she had nothing to do. Hopping off the counter, she typed in her current favorite song "Baby Doll" from Ragini MMS 2. It was just too catchy that Khushi couldn't resist the song! As the song began to play, she whipped her phone out and went on SnapChat. She took a short video of the song, saying "current fave song!!" and put it in her story and sent it out to all her close

One Night...

Boom! Khushi’s eyes shot open immediately. She gasped, gasping for air. Her vision was blurry, and as she regained her breath, she slowly sat up. Her head spun, hurting at the same time. Everything spun and she held onto the sides of her head. When her vision cleared, she realized she was in a dark hallway. Khushi slowly stood up and looked around her. The hallway was lit up in candlelight, candle stands on the wall, holding them. The walls were painted in a beautiful dark shade of burgundy. There were small tables, each with décor resting on it. Where am I , she wondered. She took a candle stand off a table and waved it around. She looked around her, trying to recognize her surroundings. She looked around her, trying to recognize her surroundings, but she couldn’t. She held the candle up and saw a big window at the end of the hall. Khushi walked over to it and placed her hands on the long, black drapes. When she touched it, she had a flashback, the vision hazy. *Flashback*

Khushi sat there, completely lifeless. It had been hours. One, two, maybe even three; she didn't know. Her breathing at regular speed but she didn't move a bit. She just stared off straight, zoned off. Arnav came in with a tray of food and looked at his wife. She wasn't his cheerful, fun loving, crazy wife, but rather his soulless wife. He went in and sat beside Khushi, her not even realizing he came in. "Khushi, it's time to eat." Arnav tore some roti and dipped it in the daal and looked at Khushi. She hadn't moved, nor paid attention to him. "Khushi?" Khushi remained silent. "Khushi," Arnav called out, his voice cracking a little bit. Still silent. "Khushi? Khushi please eat something. You'll die if you don't eat." No reply. "Khushi please. If something happens to you then… then I'll be all alone." Khushi took in a sharp breath. She looked at Arnav and opened her mouth and let Arn

"Khushi! Khushi stop," Arnav yelled. "No! I've had it! All these days I thought it was just me, but not anymore," Khushi yelled. The whole family stared, curious what they were arguing about. "Khushiji, what's wrong," Anjali asked. Khushi looked away. "Ask your brother." "For the last time, Khushi! He is not my son," Arnav roared. "Yes he is! Look at these results," Khushi said, shoving the paper in his face. Arnav looked at it blankly. "I thought you tore it up-" "Why do you care so much if I tore it up or not- … now I get it. You wanted to hide the truth from me-" "What crap! Khushi, for the f*cking last time! Aarav is NOT MY SON!" The family stared at them wide eyed and Sheetal and Aarav came in to see what all the commotion was about. Khushi's tears flowed down her cheek. "I can't stay here another second," and she turned to walk away. "K
